One time back in high school, I took the bus from Wahiawa to the North Shore, and when the bus rounded the Waimea Bay bend, I jumped out of the window and landed on Waimea Rock. The crowd was so awestruck from the feat of acrobatics that had just occurred that they hoisted me onto their shoulders and presented me as an offering to a giant whale shark that was positioned at the foot of the rock.
